Annie Barr MBE - Annie's Inspirational Journey: A Passion for Vitamin Delivery.

Annie Barr

Annie's impressive journey began with just one GCSE at 16 years old. Despite this, she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse and later went back to university at age 30 to earn not one, but three degrees. With over 40 years of experience in the health service, including working with friends and family members who suffered from vitamin deficiencies, Annie decided to research alternative methods of delivering vitamins. Sadly, her own mother passed away in 2018 due to a B12 deficiency, which further fueled Annie's passion for exploring better ways to take and deliver vital nutrients. This led to the founding of her own vitamin delivery business, inspired by her personal experiences and a desire to help others.  After discovering a long history of Pernicious Anaemia in her family, Annie was inspired to create a solution - transdermal vitamin patches. With the help of her business contacts, she developed the patch and had the first pack in her hands within 4 weeks. The patches were met with great success, improving the health of family and friends. In addition to her work with vitamin patches, Annie has created training courses to educate others on vitamin deficiencies. These can found on anniebarr.com.  Her passion for health and wellness has led her to work with colleagues throughout the UK to improve client care.

Annie's achievements have not gone unnoticed - she was awarded an MBE in 2018 for her services to international healthcare and was named the Most Inspiring Female Business Leader Global by the Chamber of Commerce in 2021. She is also the author of the Royal College of General Practitioner, Advanced Nurse Practitioner Competencies and was a member of the RCGP board for nursing in the North East. Annie's dedication and tenacity earned her a spot in the Goldman Sachs small business program at Oxford University in 2017.
